Antibodies are substances made by special white blood cells that circulate in the bloodstream and fight infections. COVID-19 is the name of the virus that is causing the pandemic. This test looks for COVID-19 IgG antibodies.
There are two (2) possible results. EnMed’s antibody test may indicate that:
Your blood does not have COVID-19 IgG in it. You likely have never been exposed to COVID-19.
Like most people, you are NOT immune to COVID-19.
This result is called a “negative” test.
Your blood does have Covid-19 antibodies in it. This is a “positive” test.
Please contact a qualified healthcare provider, or your local Public Health Department, as soon as possible.
You will need to be tested for the COVID-19 virus, to find out whether or not you still might be contagious.
Until you are tested for the COVID-19 virus itself – NOT the antibody – EnMed strongly advises you to continue to practice frequent hand washing, social distancing, and wearing a mask when crowding is unavoidable.
As soon as EnMed knows more about your immunity status – we will let you know.
THIS TEST IS NOT DESIGNED TO TREAT ANY ILLNESS. IF YOU FEEL UNWELL, CONTACT YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IMMEDIATELY
